The Carrot Seed

A little boy planted a carrot seed.
一个小男孩种下了一粒胡萝卜种子。

His mother said," I'm afraid it won't come up. "
他妈妈说：“我颗种子恐怕是不会发芽了。”

His father said, " I'm afraid it won't come up. "
他爸爸说“这颗种子恐怕是不会发芽了。”

And his big brother said, " It won't come up. "
他哥哥也说“这颗种子不会发芽的。”

Every day, the little boy pulled up the weeds around seed, and sprinkled the ground with water.
每天，小男孩都会为种子拔杂草，还会给它浇水。

But nothing came up.
但是，种子没有发芽。

And nothing came up.
还是没有发芽。

Everyone kept saying it wouldn't come up.
每个人都说种子不会发芽的。

But he still pulled up the weeds around it, and sprinkled the ground with water.
但是小男孩还是每天给小种子拔杂草和浇水。

And then one day,
然后，有一天

a carrot came out,
一颗胡萝卜苗长了出来

just as a little boy had known it would.
正如小男孩一开始就知道的那样。

孩子就是我们种下的一粒种子，我们一方面忙于工作，疏于呵护和管理，另一方面又急于看到成果，如果不能如愿，我们便开始失望起来。

或许很简单，有时候我们只需要选择相信，正面期许，学会等待，终有一天会看到发芽、开花、结果。
