Hi! I'm a Peter. I'm in the second grade.
嗨，我是皮特，我上二年级了

I have one thing to say:
IT'S NOT EASY BEING A KID!
我想说：当个小孩不容易啊

Being a kid might look like fun, but sometimes it's not.
当个小孩可能看上去有趣，但有时不是的

Yesterday, I was playing outside with my friend.
昨天，我和小伙伴在外面玩

I was having a really good time.
我们玩得很开心

Then suddenly, my mother said,
"Peter, it's time to come inside now. It's getting dark."
然后突然妈妈叫我“皮特，该回家了，天快黑了”

When you're an adult, no one can tell you what to do or when to do it.
当你是个大人时，每人会叫你该做什么或者什么时候去做

When you're a kid, you have to get up early in the morning and go to school.
当你是个小孩时，你德早起去上学，

At school, you have to study math, English, science, and history.
在学校，你得学习数学、英语、科学和历史

After school, you have to do your homework.
放学后，你还得回家做作业

When you're an adult, you do not have to go to school and you never have homework.
当你是个大人时，你不用去上学，永远没有家庭作业

When you're a kid, there are many things you can't watch.
当你是个小孩时，有很多你不能看的东西

Last Saturday, there was a scary movie on TV.
上周六，电视上播放恐怖片

It looked really exciting.
看上去很有意思

But my father would not let me watch. He said,
“You're too young for this movie, Peter.”
但我爸爸不让我看，他说“你现在太小了不能看这种影片，皮特”

When you're an adult, you can watch anything you want.
当你是个大人时，你想看什么就看什么

When you're a kid, the older kids sometimes pick on you.
当你是个小孩时，比你大的孩子会欺负你

When I was walking home from school on Monday, Tom and Steve bothered me.
当我周一放学回家时，汤姆和史蒂夫找我的麻烦

Steve took my schoolbag and put it in a tree.
史蒂夫把我的书包放到了树上

It made me very mad. When you're an adult, no one can pick on you.
这让我很生气，当你是个大人时，每人会欺负你

When you're a kid, you cannot go anywhere by yourself.
当你是个小孩时，你一个人哪儿也不能去

Last Friday, I wanted to buy a birthday gift for my friend John.
But I had to wait for my mom to return home.
上周五，我想为我朋友约翰买一个生日礼物，但我必须等我妈回家

When I want to go somewhere, I have to ride my bike or ask my mom for a ride.
当我想去哪里的时候，我得骑自行车或者叫我妈妈载我一程。

When you're an adult, you can drive a car wherever you want.
当你是个大人的时候，你开车想去哪儿就去哪儿

When you're kid, you have to go to bed early.
当你是个小孩时，你得早睡

On school nights, my mom makes me go to bed at 9:00.
每学期的晚上，妈妈都要我9点上床睡觉

But I do have a mom and dad who love me, which is really great.
但我有一对爱我的父母，真的很棒，

So I guess I like being a kid, even though IT'S NOT EASY BEING A KID!
所以我大概还是喜欢当小孩的，虽然这很不容易。
