"Marvel's Daredevil" season two introduced Matt Murdoch's former flame Elektra Natchios, who was portrayed by Elodie Yung.

5. She Didn't Know She Was Auditioning For The Role Of Elektra

Yung revealed to Collider that at first she had no idea she was auditioning for the role of Elektra on Daredevil.

"I didn't know I was playing Elektra until after about five or six rounds of auditions," she explained. "Everything is so top secret! So I had two great scenes to prepare for the audition, and I was very excited to go into the room and do that. And then I had to meet them over and over again. Every time, they would give me notes, and I'd learn a little bit more about my character. At the last audition with Charlie Cox, I found out it was for the role of Elektra."

4. Yung Has A Black Belt In Karate

The "Daredevil" actress told Rotten Tomatoes that she has a black belt in karate, but prior to undergoing training for her role as Elektra, she was a bit rusty because she had stopped practicing at the age of 20.

"I'm a black belt of karate, so for this type of part, it really helps because I have a strong base," Yung said. "Elektra is way better than me-I'm a bit rusty. I mean, I'm a black belt, but I stopped when I was 20. I'm a bit older now, so I needed to get back on track and learn new things as well, because she is a killer and she should be much more than a karate martial artist. We've introduced capoeiria, I had to learn how to manipulate the sais, and there's some muay thai moves as well -- a lot of fun stuff to do and learn."

3. She has a Degree In Law

Variety pointed out that aside from being a very talented actress, Yung also holds a degree in law from the University of La Sarbonne in Paris, France. IMDb added that Yung also studied acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in England.

2. Yung Was Born In Paris

IMDb wrote that the "Daredevil" star was born in Paris, France and is of French-Cambodian descent. She then grew up in Seine-saint-Denis, in Le Bourget.

1. She Feels Lucky To Play Elektra

Yung also admitted to Rotten Tomatoes that she feels very lucky to have the opportunity to portray Eleketra in "Daredevil."

"I do feel privileged to play Elektra, because she is definitely a strong female character," she explained. "She's a strong character. It would be nice if we eventually just say that she's a strong character, not a strong female character. I think it's very important to discover a character like her and I feel very lucky."
