猴子当然不会举行婚礼，这个短语指的是“太阳雨”，即一边出太阳一边下雨的天气现象。
这个短语最早起源于南非(South Africa)，不过在很多语言中都有这样的类似表达：比如阿拉伯语中，太阳雨被称为老鼠要结婚，保加利亚人则说熊要结婚，北印度语里要结婚的动物变成了豺，韩国人却说是老虎要结婚。
