“白狼”杰洛特还在梦中，训练女儿希里成为一名猎魔人。希里厌倦了枯燥的书本知识，趁着师傅维瑟米尔睡觉偷偷跑下来一个人练习剑术。杰洛特告诉她：你的步伐太慢，想成为猎魔人还早着呢！现在快跟我来给师傅道歉吧！

没想到，原来聪明的小希里早就把那章读完了，还用起维瑟米尔的原话反驳的大人们哑口无言。不过师傅还是因为她的调皮罚她擦洗宝剑。

训练过后，杰洛特温馨的梦也接近尾声。他的梦魇还是出现了——伴随满月和冰霜而来的狂猎找到了并杀害了希里。噩梦惊醒，等待杰洛特的又将是什么呢……
